Every new client appointment is booked with extra time built in, because a real consultation shouldn't be rushed (but you can always submit a Virtual one). Your Artist will ask about your hair history, your routine, your maintenance tolerance, and what you actually want to see in the mirror. Bring your inspo pics and your honesty, including the box dye. No judgment here, ever.
Your Artist builds your plan and confirms your pricing before anything touches your head. If your goal takes more than one session to reach safely, they'll map that timeline with you upfront. You'll know exactly what's happening, what it costs, and why, before we begin.
Then the fun part. We reserve extra execution time for new clients too, so nothing gets rushed and nothing gets skipped. Custom formulas, no upselling, no phoning it in. You leave with hair that fits your actual life, a plan for keeping it that way, and your next appointment on the books if you want it.
Got Questions? We've got Answers
Before your first visit, take two minutes with our policies. Nothing in there is a surprise or a trap.
The short version: we need 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule, we keep a card on file to hold your spot (nothing is charged when you book), and if something isn't right with your hair, reach out within 14 days and we'll take care of it, complimentary.
The rest covers pricing, extensions, memberships, and how we treat each other in this space. We wrote them to be read, not skimmed past.
You can be with us for a few hours, so settle in. We have snacks, beverages, and wifi, and you're always welcome to bring whatever else you need so you don't go hungry.
We recommend every new client book one of our New Client services. They're built with extra time for a thorough consultation and full execution of your look. Your first visit is when your Artist creates a new sectioning pattern for your cut or rebalances your color, and that takes time.
Every minute counts, so please let us know if you're running late and we'll plan the rest of our day accordingly.
We're a hidden gem, on the 4th floor of a doorbell building.
When you arrive at our address on Christopher Columbus Drive, ring Love Lane Salon 4C in the directory to the left of the glass street level doors. We'll buzz you in. Take the elevator to the 4th floor and you'll find us.
Lost, or have questions? Text or call anytime. Our team is always happy to chat.
Come ready to talk about the real stuff: how often you're willing to be in the salon, what you want to invest, which products and tools you'll actually use, and what your day to day looks like.
We craft hair around you and your features, sure. But we also craft it around how you really live.
We want your hair to look amazing in our chairs (and selfishly in our content) but we also what you to love it in your real life, too.
All of it. Certain chemicals and previously used products react with what we use in the salon. Henna, we're looking at you.
Also worth mentioning: medications, supplements, swimming, hard water, and sun exposure. They all affect how your hair behaves and how color takes.
We ask because we're prioritizing your hair's health and setting ourselves up to actually reach your goals. No judgment, ever. Just tell us.
We drape every client in our robes and capes, but this is still a hair salon: sharp tools, and chemicals literally designed to change the color of hair. Accidents can happen. Please leave expensive or sentimental pieces at home.
For your comfort and your Artist's access, skip the large earrings, hoodies, high collars, and turtlenecks. You'll stay drier at the shampoo bowl, and your Artist will have the room they need to cut precisely.
Bring photos and videos of what you love, and what you hate. Sometimes it's easier to tell us what you don't want than what you do.
Photos are the best way to communicate, so don't stress about speaking "hair." Just tell us how you feel and point at what you like and don't like. Bonus points for photos of you from a time you loved your hair or of our work! We also have tons on inspo saved on our Pinterest for you.
Two honest notes. AI and heavily edited images are everywhere now, so don't be discouraged if we tell you a photo isn't real. We can still use it as inspiration, it just might defy a few laws of physics. And we often see photos of clients who've been working with their Artist for years. We love that look too, but a new look sometimes takes multiple appointments. Rome wasn't built in a day, and sometimes damn good hair isn't either.
Washed a day or two ago with minimal product in it? Perfect. What we don't want is weeks of dry shampoo and Pilates sweat.
And let's kill a myth: dirty hair is not better for color. The products we use today are gentler on your scalp than what you grew up hearing about, so you don't need a week of natural oils for protection. What we do need is to see your hair as it actually is. Dirty hair reads darker than it is, which throws off color formulation. We also need to see your real texture (especially for curly cuts) to section and cut properly, and to choose the right products for your hair's actual needs.
One request: no root touch-up spray on your greys. We know it's great for daily life, but color doesn't always want to work through it.
If it makes you feel any better, we hate washing our own hair too.
